You Have a Covenant With God!

God provides for His children in opposite ways than the world thinks He should.

The Law of Gravity says, “what goes up must come down,” but you have to plant a seed DOWN in the ground for it to grow UP through the dirt. In this world of opposites, “common sense” says to face times of trial, tribulation, terrorism one way … “Hunker down. Tighten your belt. Prepare for the worst.” But God says to face these times in the opposite way … “Trust me. Keep giving. Don’t fear.”

Abraham prospered even when there was a famine in the land. A scavenger bird — a raven — brought meat to Elijah when he was hungry and without food in the wilderness. Ravens don’t BRING meat … they TAKE meat. See the pattern here? God will provide for you in ways you may never have expected during these difficult and challenging of times in which we live.

I believe God is thinking of dozens of ways that He can bless you and increase you. Throughout the Bible, the pattern that emerges is that first God blesses, then He increases. And the Covenant of Increase is just one of the many promises God has made to His people!

There Are 7 Areas of Your Life
in Which God Promises to Increase You:

1. Wisdom (Luke 2:52) — The thing that’s lacking everywhere these days is wisdom. God’s Covenant of Increase (in wisdom) will solve that. You have a Covenant of Increase with God, and you can expect an increase of wisdom in your life when you live according to His Word.
2. Status (Luke 2:52) — Jesus grew not only in wisdom, but also in status and influence. When you know you have a Covenant of Increase with God, you can be sure that your status and influence are going to go up – you’ll be a winner when you hang around other winners (children of God who love and honor Him).
3. Favor (Luke 2:52) Not only did Jesus grow in wisdom and stature, his favor with God and man grew over time. Through your Covenant of Increase with God, you can be confident that, while things may not have turned in your favor yet, they will eventually … in God’s timing.
4. Love (1 Thessalonians 3:12) — You can expect your loving attitude toward others to increase because of your Covenant of Increase. Maybe the things that offended you in the past won’t offend you anymore. Maybe you’ll find forgiveness for someone you thought you’d never forgive.
5. Finances (Deuteronomy 6:3; Genesis 24:35) — God increases whatever He blesses, and He has blessed those who are Born Again. Because you have a Covenant of Increase with God, you can prosper even in a bad economy when you live according to His Word.
6. Maturity (Ephesians 4:15-16) — As you read your Bible, participate in devotions, go to church, listen to pastor’s messages, you will grow up in the Lord, becoming more mature in Christ … because you have a Covenant of Increase with God.
7. Saved Souls (Acts 6:7) — The first six we’ve mentioned all lead to this seventh: because you have a Covenant with God, you can see more saved souls among your family, friends, and others who are touched by your witness and the testimony of your life.
